Homemade Cream of Chicken Soup

2 tablespoons butter

4 tablespoons flour

3  cups chicken broth

1 can pet milk, add 2 oz. of water to it

salt and pepper to taste

chopped chives or parsley

1/2 of a cooked chicken, shredded

Melt butter in top of double boiler over direct heat, then stir in flour. Add chicken broth and milk slowly. Cook over boiling water while stirring constantly until smooth and thickened. Add chicken. Garnish with chives or parsley.
