Ask A Designer: Long Bedroom with Contrasting Wall

Q. I would like your opinion about a few ideas for my new bedroom. The room is long with a sitting area on one side. I plan to place the headboard on the smaller wall even though the model has the bed going the other way. My bed is a platform bed with lights around the headboard. Ask A Designer: Combining Details for a Fabulous Space

Combining Detials for A Fabulous Space Q. I have a new house decorated in all neutrals. I love the clean, new look, but now I’m bored. I want some pattern and color. My husband “borrowed” some paintings and decor from his mother’s house to let me experiment. She has good taste, but everything looks like it needs to be in her house. I’ve been looking at magazines, and it seems like anything goes!

I would like your help with wall color, furniture, and art. My daughter is very artistic and wants too many things for her small room.
