Charity Tour of Homes Set

April 29-May 1, May 6-8

Find a slice of hilltop living or lakeside living at the Charity Tour of Homes with 10 stunning houses stretching across Middle Tennessee from the lake area home at Foxland Harbor to scenic Leiper’s Fork. Just one ticket will admit visitors to all 10 homes over a two weekend period. Homes will be open Friday – Sunday, April 29-May 1 and May 6-8. The tour benefits local nonprofit organizations.

Presented by the Master Custom Builders Council of TN, the tour includes homes built for customers at a substantial savings and are fully furnished. One ticket includes two long weekends and visitors can sample a variety of home styles, locations, builders, architects, designers, and more according to Bob Shaw, of McPherson-Shaw, Inc. and tour chairman.

“If you are considering building or even painting a room, you’ll want to check out the interesting variety of styles from French Country to traditional,” Shaw says. “You’ll see exposed beams and great examples of popular outdoor living spaces.”

All the tour homes have their own twist on outdoor living. In the French country home being built by David Patton Construction LLC, visitors will find 672 square feet of porches with relaxed seating and areas to view the surrounding 10 acre site. The outdoor living space features a wood-burning fireplace, a stained wood ceiling, and stone creek pavers, as well as a separate grilling porch just off the kitchen.

At 3,468 square feet, the David Patton home is one and a half stories and features three bedrooms and three and a half baths. Built of natural materials such as wood, stone, and brick, the house includes a curved banquette in the kitchen, a barrel ceiling in the foyer, and lots of large windows to bring in natural light and views of the rural countryside. The large furniture-style kitchen with cabinets from McDonald Custom Cabinets is equipped with a professional Thermador range and wine coolers and features wine and coffee bars.

Featuring a 21st century flare, it features rustic walnut stained floors to compliment the soft neutral taupe walls. Lighting from Graham’s Lighting combines warm silver metals with crystal accents. The bathing alcove in the master bath includes a free standing tub surrounded with decorative bookcases, a spa shower, and a custom closet.

At The Grove in College Grove, a French country home designed by Mitchell Barnett, architect, and built by Shane McFarland Construction, features 4,841 square feet of living space and four bedrooms and four full baths, as well as two half-baths. The foyer features exposed wood and beam ceiling and board and batten on the 2nd story and alcove. The great room pantry, and modroom feature custom built-ins, while there is also custom cabinetry throughout. Barn doors accent the pantry and media room, where a barnwood wall is included at the wet bar.
