Ingredients

  • 1 cup swiss cheese
  • 10 slices cooked bacon you can use leftover ham as substitute
  • 2 cups light cream
  • 1 pinch sugar
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 dash cayenne
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 premade pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Mix all ingredients together (eggs and cream in one bowl) remaining ingredients in another bowl.

Lightly butter the pie dough (in the pie pan), sprinkle in the bacon and cheese and pour the egg and cream mixture carefully over all.

Bake 12 minutes, then reduce oven temp to 325 degrees F and continue baking until custard is set and lightly browned and crust edge is light brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Cut in pie shaped sections and serve at once. This will serve 6 as a main dish or 8-10 for a first course. Good cold too.
