Sour Cream Pound Cake

Pound Cake is so easy to make. Takes just over 1 hour including baking time.

  • 1/2 lb butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanila or any flavoring
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 dash kosher salt
  • 4 eggs


  1. Cream together 1/2 lb butter and 2 cups of sugar. Then add: sour cream, vanilla, cake flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

    Beat for 2 minutes. Add 4 eggs (one at a time) and an additional 1/2 cup sour cream. Beat for another 2 minutes. Pour into an ungreased tube pan (or 2 loaf pans). Bake at 350 degrees F for 1/2 hour and then at 375 degrees F for another 1/2 hour.
