Fudge by Betty Fisk

4 ½ cups sugar

1 can evaporated milk

½ lb. butter

1 packages semi sweet chocolate bits

1 8 oz. jar marshmallow cream

1 tbsp. vanilla

2 cups chopped nuts (if desired)

Combine sugar, milk and butter in heavy saucepan. Place over moderate heat, stir until mixture begins to boil. Cook for 8 minutes, then removed from heat and stir in the chocolate bit, marshmallow crème, vanilla and nuts. Pour into a well-

buttered shallow pan and chill until firm. Makes about 5 lbs of fudge.

For a full Halloween spin on this recipe change out the chocolate bits for white chocolate chips and add 2 teaspoons of 10 drops of yellow food coloring and 4 drops of red food coloring. Top with candy corn pieces.
